The new SFDR Consultations Address Greenwashing Concerns

On September 2023, the European Commission launched two consultations on the implementation of SFDR. The consultations focus on, among others, the regulation’s usability, and role in combatting greenwashing. One consultation is open to various stakeholders with general knowledge of SFDR, while the other is targeted at stakeholders subject to SFDR or with more detailed knowledge. The consultations aim to assess the practical functioning of SFDR, identify potential issues in its implementation, and gather input on changes to disclosure requirements and the establishment of a categorization system for financial products.
